FUN-PM Facilities

In order to tackle the complex, multi-step process leading to the formation of nanoparticles, the experimental approach implemented in the FUN-PM project involves the use of complementary advanced and innovative methodologies based on the use of three shock tubes:

the high-purity shock tube (HPST) for measurements of species profiles including relatively small polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons;
the heated shock tube (HST) coupled to laser-based techniques for investigations on the particle growth:
the high-repetition-rate shock tube (ICARE-HRRST) coupled to Synchrotron-based techniques to overcome the limitations in the conventional techniques.
